Irish Rumor Quashing March 17, 1998 DUBLIN, OH--Prison officials in Dublin, Ohio are vigorously and publicly denying reports of an outbreak of leprosy among their inmates. In order to quash the rumor within the prison, they also prohibited amulets and other good luck totems that the prisoners had been to wearing to ward off the disease. The local paper reported: "Prison bans lucky charms, stating there's no such thing as leper cons."
